There are two types of verbs: the transitive verbs and intransitive verbs, but what is the difference and what does this mean?

1. The intransitive verbs:
These are verbs with which the action is not put onto an object. Therefore, they cannot have any indirect or direct object. However they can have location or time complements.
Examples:
Il marche.
Nous allons à l'école
La mer monte

2. The transitive verbs:
These verbs have a direct impact onto their object. Indeed, they can have indirect or direct objects.
Themselves can be direct or indirect transitive verbs.

a) indirect transitive verbs
They are followed by an indirect object and introduced by a preposition.
Examples:
Il parle à sa mère.
Il donne un cadeau à son amoureuse

b) direct transitive verbs
They are follow by direct object and isn't introduced by any preposition.
Examples:
Ma mère fait les courses.
Mon chat mange ses croquettes.
