Like the indicative and the subjunctive, the conditional is mode. Like its name indicates, it is a mode that talks about conditions, hypothesis. It can be conjugated in two different tenses: the present conditional and the past conditional.
The present conditional is pretty easy to memorize since it is based on the future tense, only the terminations change: -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -ions, -aient.
