The coordination is expressed by the coordination conjunction; mais, ou, et, donc, or, ni, car (see the lesson on them).
In this lesson we will explain how do French use them:

A. Mais
It is a conjunction that allows an opposition between two elements. It is never repeated.
Example:
J'ai bien lu ta lettre mais je ne te comprends pas.

B. Ou
It is a conjunction that allows to make a choice between two elements.
Example:
Tu veux du café ou du thé.

C. Et
It is a conjunction that links two elements to each other.
Example:
Lui et moi vivons ensemble.

D. Donc
It is a conjunction that indicates a consequence.
Example:
Je ne peux pas venir pour ton anniversaire donc je t'enverrai un cadeau par la poste.

E. Or
It is a conjunction that makes an opposition between two elements.
Example:
Elle veut une nouvelle paire de chaussures, or elle en a déjà assez.

F. Ni
It is a conjunction that allows taking out something. It is always to be repeated.
Example:
Je ne veux ni t'entendre, ni te voir.

G. Car
It is a conjunction that indicates a cause.
Example:
Il n'est pas venu car il n'a pas de voiture.
