In French there are few time prepositions. Let's see them
Dans  In
Indicates the beginning of an action
Example: Le match de foot commence dans 15mn

Depuis  Since/for
Indicates a began action that still lasts in the present
Example: Je travaille depuis 6h du matin.

En  In
Indicates the duration of an action
Example: En hiver je skie énormément.

Pendant  During /for
Indicates the complete duration of an action over in the present time
Example: Nous avons fumé pendant 10 ans.

Pour  For
Indicates the duration of an action still not over in the present time.
Example: Nous sommes en Italie pour quelques jours.
